AlumDeck vs CodeCanyon alumni scripts
This is the only comparison on the site where the prices are the same. Alumni scripts on CodeCanyon typically sell for $30 to $49, and AlumDeck is $49. So the argument cannot be about price, and this page does not try to make it one.
Everything worth deciding here comes down to three things: what the add-ons cost, what the support is actually like, and where your copy of the software came from.
What marketplace scripts are genuinely better at
Three real advantages, and we would use all three ourselves if we were the buyer.
You can click a live demo before you spend anything
Almost every marketplace item has a working demo you can poke at, log into and break. AlumDeck does not have a public live demo yet, and the demo page is a screenshot tour rather than a running site you can use. That is a straightforward disadvantage for us, and it is the first thing a careful buyer notices.
You can read what other buyers said
Marketplace listings carry ratings, comment threads and sales counts. A script with years of sales and a visible support thread has been tested by more people than a new product has. AlumDeck has no customers yet, no reviews, and no star rating we are entitled to display.
The marketplace handles the transaction
Payment, invoicing, licence records and refund policy are all handled by a large platform with a process behind it. Our checkout is not even open yet, which the pricing page says plainly. If buying safely from a stranger is your concern, the marketplace answers it and we currently do not.

Marketplace figures are typical ranges observed across alumni listings, not the terms of any single product. Check the item you are actually looking at, because these vary enormously. The AlumDeck column is published in full on our pricing page.
Where the price difference usually appears
Typical published ranges for marketplace alumni scripts. The third figure is our arithmetic on those ranges, not a real listing.
Three things to check before you buy any alumni script
Check the add-on list first
- Open the seller's other items before you buy the base script
- Look for donations, events, mentoring and the job board as separate purchases
- Add the ones you actually need to the headline price
- Ask whether add-ons are covered by the same support period
- AlumDeck has no add-on store, so this list is empty by design
Check what support really means
- Read the comment thread, not the description
- Look at how old the unanswered questions are
- Check what the support period is and what extending it costs
- Check when the last update was published
- AlumDeck includes twelve months of email support in the $49
Check where your copy came from
- Buy from the marketplace or the vendor, never from a nulled download
- A nulled copy has been modified by someone you cannot identify
- It receives no security updates, ever
- It will be holding your alumni names, emails and employers
- Whatever you buy, this is the rule that matters most
When you should buy a marketplace script instead
At this price, buying both and throwing one away is a real option. Here is when the script is the one to keep.
You need to try before you buy
If clicking through a live installation is part of how you make decisions, a marketplace item gives you that today and we do not. Screenshots are not the same thing, and we are not going to argue that they are.
You want the reassurance of other buyers
Sales counts, ratings and a public comment thread are real evidence. We have none of it, because the product is new and we will not manufacture it. For a cautious buyer spending institutional money, that evidence is worth more than any claim on this page.
You only need one narrow thing
If all you want is a directory, or only an events page, a cheaper single-purpose script is a better fit than a full alumni platform. AlumDeck includes fifteen or so modules, and paying for all of them to use one is not good value even at $49.
A specific script already matches your requirement
Some marketplace products are excellent, maintained for years by developers who answer their comment threads properly. If you have found one, bought a demo login and read the last six months of support replies, buy it. The criticisms on this page are about a pattern in the market, not a claim that every item shares it.

Who it is for
Questions people ask when comparing these two
Why is AlumDeck the same price as scripts with fewer features?
Because add-ons are not our business model. The plan is to sell one licence, at one price, to a lot of institutions, rather than to sell a cheap base and recover the difference in modules.
That decision is easy to reverse later and hard to trust in advance, which is why the pricing page states the terms in full rather than in a footnote.
What is a nulled script and why does it matter here?
A nulled copy is a paid script redistributed for free with its licence checks removed. Somebody you cannot identify has modified the code before you install it, and you have no way to verify what they changed.
For an alumni site that is a serious risk, because the application holds names, email addresses, employers and sometimes donation records. A nulled copy also receives no security updates at all. This applies to AlumDeck as much as to anything else: install what you bought, from where you bought it.
Is there a live demo of AlumDeck?
Not yet. The demo page is a screenshot tour taken from a real install with real content in it, and there are no demo logins to publish.
This is a genuine gap next to a marketplace listing with a working demo, and it is the main reason a buyer might reasonably choose one of those instead today.
What happens when the twelve months of updates end?
The software carries on running exactly as installed, with your data in your own database. There is no kill switch and nothing expires.
What stops is new updates and support tickets, and renewing buys those back. Renewal is optional, which is the part worth checking against whatever else you are considering.
