One zip file, and hosting you probably already pay for
AlumDeck downloads as one zip after purchase. You upload it, create an empty database and answer six screens. The installer checks the server before writing anything, so a missing extension shows up on screen rather than halfway through.
Checkout is not open yet, so there is no download link on this page today. The requirements are published now so you can check your hosting before spending anything.
What your server needs
Send this table to your host if you are not sure. Everything on it has been ordinary on cPanel hosting for years.
| Requirement | What AlumDeck needs | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PHP | 8.2 or newer | The installer reports the version it finds before writing a file. |
| Database | MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+ | One empty database and a user with full rights. Do not create tables. |
| PHP extensions, required | pdo_mysql, mbstring, openssl, tokenizer, xml, dom, ctype, json, fileinfo, filter, hash, session, pcre | Standard on any cPanel host. The check screen names anything missing. |
| PHP extensions, recommended | gd or imagick, curl, zip, exif, intl | Image resizing, galleries and archives. Amber, not red: the install continues. |
| Writable paths | storage/ and bootstrap/cache/, plus the application folder during setup | Set from the cPanel file manager. No shell required. |
| Disk space | About 120 MB | That is the application. Photo galleries are what grow later. |
| Web server | Apache with mod_rewrite, or Nginx | An .htaccess file ships inside the zip. |
| Shell access | Not needed | No SSH, no Composer, no build step. Dependencies are in the download. |
| HTTPS | Recommended | Free certificates are standard now. Alumni records should not travel in the clear. |
If your host fails a required row and refuses to change it, that is the case the seven day refund exists for.
Upload, answer six screens, sign in
About ten minutes on hosting you already have access to.
Download the zip
The download and your licence key arrive with the purchase. Checkout is not open yet, so this is the step you cannot do today.
Upload and unzip
Into your hosting account, the way you would upload any website. The cPanel file manager will unzip it for you.
Create an empty database
In cPanel, as you would for anything else. Keep the database name, user and password to hand.
Run the wizard
Licence key, server check, database, site name and admin account, review, install. It proves the database user can create tables before going further.
The installer closes itself
When it finishes, the install route permanently returns 404 so nobody can rerun it. Sign in to the admin panel and set your logo and colours.
Step 6 of 6 Install DONE database connection verified DONE tables created DONE admin account created DONE site settings saved DONE configuration file written DONE installer locked, /install now returns 404 Install complete. Sign in and add your logo. Nothing left to run. No SSH, no Composer, no build step.
What people ask before they upload anything
Can I download it before buying?
No. There is no trial download, and no link exists here while checkout is closed. What you can do for nothing is check the table above against your hosting, and email hello@alumdeck.com for any screen you want to see.
What if my server fails one of the checks?
The check screen names the exact requirement rather than saying something went wrong. Most failures are one support ticket to your host: raise the PHP version, or switch on an extension that is already installed. If your host refuses and the row is a required one, ask for a refund within seven days.
Do I need SSH, Composer or a terminal?
No. The dependencies are already inside the zip, so there is nothing to fetch and nothing to build. If you can upload a file and create a database in cPanel, you can install AlumDeck. Developers who prefer a terminal will find a standard Laravel application.
How long does it take?
About ten minutes, most of it uploading and unzipping. Adding your logo, colours, menus and first pages afterwards takes longer than the install does.
How do updates reach me?
During your first year each new version is published as a new download. Nothing is pushed to your server and nothing changes until you apply it. That cuts both ways: no vendor can break your site with a release you did not ask for, and no vendor patches it for you either.
The licence is $49, once, for one installation
Every module, unlimited members, full source code, and a year of updates and support.
